White Oak character rift and quartered will appear similar to that of the 
regular character in so far as color tones. Character may be a bit different as the look is achieved by the way it’s cut at the sawmill.
A lot of folks ask me what’s rift mean or what about quartered? Once again it’s the way it’s cut at the sawmill. Here’s a good close-up of rift. It has a much tighter grain pattern opposed to a regular cut White Oak. As far as quartered some refer it to tiger striping or the way better furniture in the early 20th century was made.
Time for the sponge look providing an idea what this hardwood looks like with a clear coat finish.
